Royal Diary: upcoming royal engagements 16th-22nd December

It’s an extremely quiet week for the Royal Family, with Christmas just around the corner! Before the family descend on Sandringham, it is likely that this week will see The Queen host her annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. While this is not an official event, we will only see photos of the family arriving by car.

17th December:

– The Prince of Wales, in his capacity as President of The Prince’s Trust, will open the charity’s new South London Centre in Blackfriars Circus.

Prince Charles has two engagements this week, before Christmas (Clarence House)

– The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will be at St Paul’s Cathedral to attend the London Fire Brigade’s Carol Service.

18th December:

– The Prince of Wales will attend an advent service to remember those affected by the Easter Attacks in Sri Lanka, at the Emmanuel Christian Fellowship Church, London.

19th December:

– The Queen will give a speech in the House of Commons, setting out the government’s agenda for the next Parliament, following the General Election last week.
