Royal diary: upcoming engagements 12th-18th March

Another busy week for the Royal Family; the Commonwealth Day service will take place, plus Sophie is heading to Somerset, Camilla to Chester and the Cambridges will hand out shamrocks for St Patrick’s Day.

12th March:

– The Queen will lead the Royal Family in attendance at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminter Abbey; joining her will be The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duke of York, The Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra.

– The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will then attend a Commonwealth Day Reception at Marlborough House, London.

– The Duke of York, Chairman of Trustees of The Outward Bound Trust, will host a meeting and supporters lunch at Buckingham Palace.

– The Earl of Wessex will attend the launch of the Merseyside and Cheshire Commonwealth Association and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Exporting Programme at Chester Racecourse; and open Neston High School.

– The Countess of Wessex, Royal Patron of Ice Maiden, will hold a reception and lunch at Buckingham Palace.

– The Princess Royal, President of Riding for the Disabled Association, will attend a dinner in London.

13th March:

– The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron of The Big Lunch, will attend a Commonwealth Big Lunch with pupils from Barn Croft Primary School, Walthamstow.

– The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry will host a reception for winners of The Met Excellence Awards at Kensington Palace.

– The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Irish Regiment (27th (Inniskilling), 83rd, 87th and The Ulster Defence Regiment) will visit Clive Barracks, Shropshire. Prince Andrew will also host Pitch@Palace 9.0 Boot Camp at The University of Manchester.

– The Countess of Wessex, Patron of Love Musgrove MRI Million Campaign, will attend a reception at Somerset County Cricket Club, Taunton and visit the Radiology Department of Musgrove Park Hospital. Sophie is also to visit the Somerset Community Foundation and visit the Rural Enterprise Centre at the Showground in Shepton Mallet as Vice Patron of The Royal Bath and West of England Society.

– The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron of Parkinson’s UK, will attend a reception at St James’s Palace.

14th March:

– The Prince of Wales will host a reception on behalf of The Queen, to celebrate nursing in the UK at Buckingham Palace.

– The Duchess of Cornwall, Honorary Member of the Jockey Club, will attend the second day of the Festival (Ladies Day) at Cheltenham Racecourse.

– The Countess of Wessex, Grand President of St. John Ambulance, will attend the County Presidents Conference, Chapter Hall, Clerkenwell, London.

– The Princess Royal, Chancellor of The University of London, will open the new Theatre and Recital Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Anne will also attend a service to mark the 175th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Prison Pentonville in St. Paul’s Cathedral.

– The Duchess of Gloucester, President, will attend the opening of the new Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music with Princess Anne.

15th March:

– The Princess Royal, Patron of the British Quality Foundation, will attend the 2018 UK Excellence Awards at Guildhall. Princess Anne will also hold the Annual Awards Ceremony fo the Butler Trust at St James’s Palace as their patron.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, will visit Whalley Range High School, Salford, Manchester; visit Manchester Real Tennis Club, Salford.

– Prince Harry will deliver a keynote speech at the annual Veterans’ Mental Health Conference held at King’s College London and discuss work he is pursuing at The Royal Foundation for mental health in the Armed Forces.

16th March:

– The Duchess of Cornwall (known as The Countess of Chester in the city) will attend the University of Chester Graduation Ceremony and receive an Honorary Doctorate at Chester Cathedral.

– Prince Harry will present recent graduates of the Army Aviation Centre with their Wings; Stockbridge, Hampshire.

– The Countess of Wessex will attend the National Shire Horse Show, Stafford County Show Ground and open the Girlguiding Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire as the organisation’s president.

– The Earl of Wessex, Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, will visit the RSM Offices, Leeds, and then head to Woodkirk Academy, Tingley, Wakefield.

– The Princess Royal will attend the Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse.

17th March:

– The Duke of Cambridge, Colonel of the Irish Guards, accompanied by The Duchess, will attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Cavalry Barracks, Hounslow.
