Published by the Royal Collection Trust and written by David Cali, the  illustrations are done by Kate Slater.

The story is about the birthday preparations for a Queen whose Buckingham Palace courtiers are asked to come up with the right crown for her big day. It is The Queen’s grandson, a small child, who came up with the idea – a paper crown he has made himself.

The publication has been approved by Her Majesty the Queen.

Publisher Jacky Colliss Harvey said: “We hope that children and adults alike will enjoy David Cali’s charming story about a very special birthday, brought to life through Kate Slater’s highly original collage illustrations.”

The hardback book will be on sale at Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace from 12th April ahead of The Queen’s 90th birthday on 21st April. The book is expected to be sold at £12.95.
