Charles and Camilla welcome home victorious New Zealand team

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall met the victorious New Zealand Rugby team yesterday, as they arrived home following their success at the Rugby World Cup.

In a surprise engagement, Charles and Camilla congratlated the victorious team on the third day of their tour of New Zealand.

Richie McCaw, holding the Webb Ellis Cup, shook hands with Prince Charles in Wellington’s Parliament. He and his team the All Blacks, chatted with the Prince and Camilla about their recent victory, becoming the first ever team to retain the cup twice. New Zealand won in both 2011 and 2007.

Prince Charles gave a short address to the cheering crowds:

“We just travelled 11,618 miles to come here to congratulate the best rugby team in the world.
