Get tickets to The Queen’s 92nd birthday concert – featuring Tom Jones, Kylie & Shaggy!

A Commonwealth concert to mark The Queen’s 92nd birthday is in the works, featuring big names such as Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Craig David and 90s star, Shaggy!

The concert – called ‘The Queen’s Birthday Party’ – is being hosted by the BBC at the Royal Albert Hall on The Queen’s real birthday, 21st April. The aim of the evening is to highlight her role as head of the Commonwealth ‘family of nations’.

Acts from across the family of the Commonwealth’s 53 nations will take centre stage, with Her Majesty as the guest of honour. We expect to see many other members of the Royal Family in attendance too.

April will also see the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London and the Queen will take a key role in events.

Names already confirmed for the evening include Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Craig David, Anne Marie, Shawn Mendes, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Sting and Shaggy, who will come together to put on, say the BBC, ‘a birthday party like no other’. Kylie of course performed at The Queen’s 90th birthday show at Windsor.

The concert forms one third one of a trio of BBC programmes to mark CHOGM in London. Another of these will see newsreader George Alagiah delve into the history of the Commonwealth, heading to Tonga to meet Princess Pilolevu, granddaughter of The Queen of Tonga, who welcomed the 27-year-old Queen on her first tour in 1953. He will also travel to Australia, Ghana, India and South Africa.

Sir Lenny Henry will also examine the deep-rooted relationship between Britain and the Commonwealth in ‘The Commonwealth Kid’.

Members of the public can get tickets to the special evening of entertainment; go here. Prices start at £22.90.

For those unlucky enough to not get tickets, the concert will be streamed live on BBC One and BBC Radio Two, as well as the BBC World Service English.
