Queen’s horses get first and second place on Day 2 of Royal Ascot

On the second day of Royal Ascot 2020, The Queen will have been pleased! One of her horses won a race, and the other was placed second.

Tactical wont the Windsor Castle Stakes, being guided by jockey James Doyle. The race took place at 4.10pm.

The horse is trained by Andrew Balding, brother of TV presenter and horse enthusiast, Clare.

You can see the race below; the royal jersey is the purple with red sleeves and gold braid.

It was First Receiver that came in second, being narrowly beaten by Russian Emperor in the Hampton Court Stakes at 1.50pm. The horse was jockeyed by Frankie Dettori, and was the favourite for this race.

Zara Tindall, The Queen’s granddaughter was in attendance at Ascot yesterday, with husband Mike. She confirmed the Monarch will be watching on TV. “She will be glued to the television as always and really sad not to be there,” she added.
