Earlier today, Princess Charlotte headed to nursery for the first time, and photos have been released to mark the occasion.
Princess Charlotte, 2, looks adorable in the photographs, wearing a red coat, shoes, and hair bow, with a pink rucksack and scarf. She is pictured on the steps to Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, the Cambridges’ London home.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter is attending Willcocks nursery school in Kensington, as was announced back in December. William and Kate were ‘very pleased’ to share the photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace, a tweet read. The images were taken this morning by the Duchess herself. Catherine also took the images of Prince George on his first day of nursery.
In one pose, she walks down the steps, and in another, she sits with her hands in her lap.
Charlotte will be going to nursery full-time at the school next to the Royal Albert Hall. Willcocks is located in a former church and describes the atmosphere as “a fun and structured morning with lots of free play where children embark on the first stages of learning to read, write and to understand simple numbers with the minimum of pressure.”
They also strive ‘to maintain its ethos for high standards, excellence and good manners’, their website says.
Ofsted, Britain’s school inspectors, rated the nursery as ‘outstanding’ back in 2012, stating the curriculum was ‘outstanding’.
“Children actively participate in activities that relate to all areas of learning. Topic themes include outings in the local community and visitors to the nursery. This enables children to gain first-hand experiences that effectively consolidate their learning.”
Who do you think Charlotte most resembles? And what do you think of the photos? We love them!
