The Duke of Cambridge has admitted that he is still “working on” the name of his third child, while opening The Greenhouse Sports Centre in London this evening.
The Duke was speaking as he arrived at the centre with his brother Prince Harry. Eager journalists asked William to “put us out of our misery” in reference to the name of his third child, to which he replied, “I’m working on it!” Prince William was also asked how it felt to be named Prince Harry’s best man.
William, 35, said “It feels great, feels great,” adding that he was “really delighted”. Talking to Sky News Correspondent Rhiannon Mills, the future King joked, “Revenge is sweet, Rhiannon, revenge is sweet.” Prince Harry was William’s best man at his wedding to the then Catherine Middleton in 2011.
Prince Harry admitted that William had “known for months”, adding that he “got down on one knee” to ask his older brother.
After the brief conversation with reporters, the two Princes made their way into the Greenhouse Sports Centre. The Centre will provide sport, coaching and social facilities for young people in the local community, and hopes to work with schools to use sport to empower and inspire young people.
The new centre will also be the home for a national table tennis performance club in partnership with ‘Table Tennis England’. It is also set to be the first London partner for ‘Coach Core’, a national coaching apprenticeship scheme for 16-24 year olds, run by The Royal Foundation.
Before the official opening, William and Harry seemed to enjoy chatting to ‘Coach Core’ apprentice Khadra Ahmed and Greenhouse Centre’s Chair Michael Sherwood. They were also given a tour before meeting some of the young people benefiting from the Centre.
Ms Ahmed praised the work of ‘Coach Core’ staff: “When I met Coach Mo, he didn’t make me feel like I had to fit into someone else’s idea of what I should be.”
A ribbon was then cut by both Royals to open Greenhouse. The Centre is housed in a Grade II* listed deconsecrated church, and will be accessible to local schoolchildren and community members of all ages, providing teenagers with the opportunity to work with high-quality coaches to get active.

Of the new Centre, the organisation said, “The Greenhouse Centre is a unique facility where our inspirational coaches deliver high-quality sports programmes. The Centre will be a home for our existing Greenhouse Sports Table Tennis Club, as well as other sports programmes for young people and their families from the local community and beyond.”
