It was a busy day for The Countess of Wessex yesterday, as Sophie visited HM Prison Downview, held an afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace, and attended a dinner at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel.

The first event of a busy day for the Countess a visit to HMP Downview. Here, Sophie met inmates working in the prison’s sewing workshop. The Countess was visiting as patron of the London College of Fashion which works with inmates to allow them to gain qualifications in fashion whilst in prison through the “making for change” initiative, trying to ensure that inmates have job skills to prevent them from re-offending after release.
Sophie also hosted an afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace for the Scar Free Foundation, an organisation that is dedicated to supporting and making life better for people affected by disfiguring conditions.
The Countess of Wessex spoke with representatives of the organisation and those who receive support from it.
As for many of the Royal’s engagement, there have been no pictures as it was a seemingly private event.
Finally, Sophie attended a dinner for her two patronages, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and National Autistic Society. The evening was held at Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, near the famous London landmark.
