The Duchess of Cornwall is set to become a guest editor of Country Life ahead of her 75th birthday this summer. The special edition of the magazine will be released on 13th July, just before her birthday on 17th.
2022 also marks the 125th anniversary of the magazine.

Camilla’s edition of the hugely popular magazine will reflect her passion for horses and dogs. She currently has two rescue Jack Russell terriers, Bluebell and Beth, and is patron of Battersea Cats and Dogs’ Home. Last year saw Camilla visit Battersea Dogs and Cats Home with Beth, as they unveiled a plaque at Battersea’s Old Windsor branch.
The Duchess will reveal her champions of the countryside, her most cherished view, and favourite recipe.
The special edition will also focus on the work of the Royal as patron of over 90 charities, from Barnardo’s to The Royal School of Needlework and The Royal Society of Literature.
The Duchess of Cornwall becomes the third member of the Royal Family to guest edit the magazine. Her husband, The Prince of Wales, has guest edited Country Life twice, once to mark his 65th birthday in 2013 and another time in 2018 to mark his 70th, the biggest selling issue of all time. To mark his 67th birthday, Charles wrote an article in support of British farmers.
In 2020, Camilla’s sister-in-law, The Princess Royal, guest-edited another bestseller issue of the magazine for her 70th birthday, taking a look at her life at Gatcombe and love of the outdoors.

Mark Hedges, editor of Country Life magazine, said: “It is a great honour that The Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to guest-edit Country Life in July.
“Her Royal Highness is a passionate countrywoman and we are delighted that she follows her husband in presiding over this commemorative edition.”
Tom Parker Bowles, the Duchess’ son, is a food writer, critic and longstanding contributor to the magazine. He commented: “As a columnist for Country Life, I’m delighted my mother will be guest-editing a special issue. But rather hoping she won’t try to muck about with my copy.”
The Queen has made The Duchess of Cornwall a Lady of the Garter – a personal gift
This marks another special moment in 2022 for Camilla as she was recently made a Royal Lady of the Most Noble Order of the Garter by The Queen in the New Year’s Honours List.
Knights and Ladies of the Garter are personally chosen by The Queen to honour those who have held public office, those who have contributed in a particular way to national life, or those who have served the Sovereign personally.
