A ginger-haired man was plotting to assassinate The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge so that his fellow red-head, Prince Harry, could sit on the throne, a court has heard.
Mark Colborne, 37, from Southampton, wanted to carry out a plan mimicking Norwegian terrorist, Anders Breivik, as he felt ‘marginalised’ for being ginger.
The plan, reveals the Daily Mail and Telegraph, involved using a sniper to ‘take out’ Prince Charles, and turning the loner into a ‘fully-transformed military terrorist’, known for ‘striking at the hearts of the dark-haired, dark-eyed Caucasian race’.
Mr Colborne supposedly had a troubled childhood and felt ‘belittled by society’ because of his ginger hair and pale complexion and wanted to ‘be heard through terror’.
A diary entry from Colborne was read aloud in the Old Bailey: ‘Wouldn’t it be great to have a military silent rifle, take up a good stealth position and put a bullet in Charles’ head. I would sacrifice my life for that one shot.
‘Kill Charles and Prince Harry becomes king… Kill the tyrants and become free from tyrannical future rule.’
Even if Prince Charles and Prince William were to die, Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be next in line, with a regent because they are under age; this would likely Catherine, the children’s mother, or another senior Royal and close family member.
Another entry described how the extremist was planning the terrible act ‘for the Aryan people’, and that he ‘would take out Prince Charles and a few others for the sake of the Aryan people.’
He further wrote: ‘I don’t want to be a serial killer. I’m more of an Anders Breivik. I have left potential targets open. I was waiting for an opportunity to kill one of them. LET it be Prince Charles which would be good.’
‘He is protected but not too protected. I would sacrifice my life for that one shot. Kill Charles and William and Harry become king. Kill the tyrants.’
The defendant was also hateful towards other ethnicities, being derogatory to non-Aryans, black people and black-haired Caucasians; Colborne planned to spray deadly poisons at ethnic minorities.
The plan was discovered when Colborne’s half-brother found receipts for chemicals bought on Amazon, while decorating in June 2014 and told his mother. Books were also found in his room, including the title ‘How to Kill People’ and other explosive making paraphernalia, but the defendant denies acts of terrorism.
