>Buckingham Palace has released a new portrait photograph of Princess Anne to mark her 75th birthday.
It comes after recent reports suggested The King’s sister didn’t want to make a fuss over the occasion and instead prefers to mark birthdays which ‘end in 0’.
The photograph show the Princess alongside her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, on the eve of a French state banquet at Windsor Castle, held by The King in July as part of President Emmanuel Macron making a state visit to the UK.

Anne is wearing her banquet gown and regalia for the white tie event, including Order of the Garter Sash and Star, Order of the Thistle Star, King Charles’ Royal Family Order and Royal Family Order from Elizabeth II.
She also wore the Festoon Tiara, which she received as a gift from the Worldwide Shipping Group after she christened one of their ships in 1973. Her necklace and earrings were 18th birthday gifts from her late parents, Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, while her diamond bow brooch was a wedding gift from her older brother, King Charles, upon her first marriage also in 1973.
The picture was taken by Chris Jackson, who also recently snapped The Queen’s birthday portrait for her 78th birthday.

Anne publicly marked her 75th birthday by hosting a Charities Forum at Buckingham Palace earlier in the year, which brought together some of her Patronages to network and forge new connections.
In her address, Anne told guests “I’m not here because this was my choice. You very kindly asked me to become patron of your organisations, so it’s an honour for me to have all of you here”. In addition, Her Royal Highness approved a new £5 coin which is to be issued by the Royal Mint.
