The official set of photos has been released by the Swedish court to mark Prince Alexander’s christening, which took place last week.
Four photos of the Prince and his parents with family members and godparents make up the set. The first shows Alexander sitting in Sofia’s lap, looking into the camera. A proud father, Prince Carl Philip, sits next to them in his military uniform.
Another image depicts the trio with Alexander’s godparents, who were chosen to guide him in life.
These five are Crown Princess Victoria, his aunt, Victor Magnuson, Jan-Ake Hansson, Lina Frejd, and Cajsa Larrson. Magnuson is Carl Phillip’s cousin, while Hansson is a friend of the Prince. Frejd is the sister of Princess Sofia and Larsson is a close friend of the Princess.
In a rose and green toned room at Drottningholm Palace, the images were captured by Mattias Edwall after the service, when a reception was hosted by Carl Philip’s parents to celebrate the occasion.
You can read all about the day in our article here. There was another Swedish christening earlier this year, when Prince Oscar was welcomed into the church back in May.
The King and Queen, Carl Gustaf and Silvia posed for a photo with their third grandson, and fifth grandchild. Princess Sofia’s parents were also featured in this photo.
Lastly, Sofia and Carl Philip wanted to be joined by their siblings for a photo. With children very close in age, Carl Philip, Madeleine and Victoria will likely be swapping tips and arranging play dates for their little ones.
Lina, also a godparent, and her sister stood behind the Princess for the photos.
