Following the death of the Duchess of Kent, The Prince and Princess of Wales have issued a message in tribute to the late Duchess.
Writing on their social media pages, William and Catherine said:
“Our thoughts today are with The Duke of Kent and his family, particularly George, Helen and Nicholas.
The Duchess worked tirelessly to help others and supported many causes, including through her love of music.
She will be a much missed member of the family.”
Buckingham Palace announced the death of the Duchess at midday, after she died at Kensington Palace yesterday.
The Palace noted how she would be remembered fondly for “her life-long devotion to all the organisations with which she was associated, her passion for music and her empathy for young people”.
A period of Royal Mourning is now being observed until the Duchess’ funeral, with further details yet to be confirmed.
