Details of Princess Charlotte’s christening have been released by Kensington Palace.
The christening of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child will take place on 5th July, at St Magdalene’s Church on The Queen’s Sandringham Estate.
The service will be private, the same as Prince George’s, but some media will be allowed to watch the Royal Family enter St Madgalene’s on the short walk from Sandringham House; this is the same journey as Christmas day.
The Duke and Duchess have also welcomed members of the public to stand outside the church, and have said they are touched so many people have sent their best wishes to the family.
Suggestions have been made the Princess will be brought along in a pram, which would mean photo opportunities as either Catherine or William took their daughter out, to go inside for the service.
Princess Charlotte will almost definitely wear the same gown as her brother did in 2013, a remake of a silk gown made in 1841 for Queen Victoria’s first daughter, Princess Victoria. The Queen’s dressmaker, Angela Kelly is responsible for the replica, which was made in 2004 for James, Viscount Severn, the second child of The Earl and Countess of Wessex.
St Magdalene’s Church is where Princess Eugenie was baptised, as well as William’s mother, Diana, the late Princess of Wales.

The Cambridge family have been living at Anmer Hall, leaving London for Norfolk just a few days after the Princess’ birth. It is expected they will remain based at Anmer for a few years, returning to London for engagements, as Prince William works for the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service.
Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct the service, which will welcome Charlotte into the Church of England.
‘I am delighted to be invited to conduct the baptism of Princess Charlotte. It will be an extraordinary honour and privilege to help welcome the Princess into the family of the church.
‘Along with her parents and all her family, I look forward to joining in this joyful day of celebration and thanksgiving,’ he said.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are expected to attend, along with elder brother Prince George, Prince Charles, Camilla, and Catherine’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.
Prince Harry is currently in Namibia beginning conservation work, so it seems he will be missing the event.
