Earlier this morning, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge signed the condolence book at the American Embassy, following the mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando, which killed 49 and left more injured.
Matthew Barzun, US ambassador greeted the couple at the embassy in Grosvenor Square.
Prince William was joined by his wife, Kate, as he wrote a message in the book regarding the attack, which is being treated as terrorism.

He paused for a moment to read the ambassador’s dedication and proceeded to write: “With our deepest condolences and with our thoughts and prayers to all those affected.”
‘Wiliam,’ it finished.
The Duchess, 34, signed ‘Catherine’ beside her husband’s name, before the couple spoke to embassy staff and those from the LGBT network GLIFAA.
Omar Mateen, the man who opened fire at Pulse in Orlando, was shot at the scene. It is now reported that he too was gay, but had been radicalised by ISIL.

The Queen sent her condolences to victims yesterday, on the day of the Order of the Garter Service: “Prince Phillip and I have been shocked by the events in Orlando. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected.”
