Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte see Alcaraz win at Wimbledon

It was Catherine's second official public appearance since the announcement of her cancer treatment

In her second public appearance since her cancer diagnosis, Catherine, The Princess of Wales attended Wimbledon this afternoon to watch the Men’s Single’s Final.

She was joined by her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Matthews, to see Carlos Alcaraz take on veteran Novak Djokovic in the Grand Slam final. Alcaraz was defending his title from 2023.

Before Catherine and Charlotte took to their seats, they met with female tennis stars, including tennis champion Emma Radacanu and yesterday’s women’s champion, Barbora Krejčíková gifting flowers and congratulations having missed the match.

Kate did not attend the women’s final which took place on the 13th July. Wimbledon Chairwoman, Debbie Jevans, presented the trophy to Barbora Krejčíková on Catherine’s behalf, after she beat Jasmine Paolini.

The Princesses also met the ‘Work at Wimbledon’ programme, which supports young individuals from a range of backgrounds with jobs at the tennis championship, based in south west London.

Upon entering Royal Box, the Princess was greeted with a standing ovation in her second public appearance of the year, following 2024’s Trooping the Colour last month. Catherine was seen smiled broadly and gave a wave to the crowd in response.

She was wearing her Wimbledon bow pin, as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club; green and purple are the club’s colours, and a dress from Saifyaa.

A number of other high-profile individuals were seen at the Men’s Final, including Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Zendaya, Jamie Dornan and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Following the match which saw Carlos Alcaraz take the title, the Princess presented him with the winner’s golden trophy. The 21-year-old Spaniard beat the veteran Serbian 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4), to the crowd’s delight.
