Royals treat us to family photos for Prince William’s birthday and Father’s Day

by Victoria Howard

Today is Father’s Day in the UK, as well as The Duke of Cambridge’s 38th birthday. Royal watchers have been treated to a number of special family photos to mark these occasions, from the royal archives to new, unseen intimate snaps.

Last night we were shown a Cambridge family photo of the Duke with his children on the swing at Anmer Hall. Many fans noted that this swing has been featured in other family photos, including Prince George’s 3rd birthday pictures.

Two others show Prince William playing on the grass with the Princes and Princess, laughing.

We also saw a new, intimate snap of The Duke of Cambridge hugging his father, Prince Charles, wearing country attire. This, we are told, was taken in December and is much more personal than anything we have see of the two future Kings before.

Another image shows the Duchess as a child with her father, Michael Middleton with plaited hair and a checked shirt. Mr Middleton also has a beard.

Clarence House shared two snaps to mark Father’s Day. The first, dated 1951, shows The Duke of Edinburgh holding a young Prince Charles, while The Queen holds Princess Anne.

The second is Prince Charles with his sons at a polo game in 2004.

@Royal Family marked William’s birthday with a snap of the Monarch with her grandson from 2016, at Her Majesty’s 90th birthday celebrations.

Their Father’s Day post also showed another picture of Prince Philip playing polo, as an inquisitive Prince Edward watches. A later photo shows the full Royal Family at Frogmore.
