Buckingham Palace have released two official photographs, to mark the engagement of Princess Eugenie to her long-term boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank.
Taken earlier today, the couple pose for the camera to mark the announcement.

Princess Eugenie of York appears to be wearing a red padparadscha sapphire engagement ring, surrounded by diamonds. It is matched by red tones in her Erdem dress. Mr Brooksbank looks smart in a dark suit, white shirt and red patterned tie.
Many have commented on the similarity to her mother’s engagement ring of 1986; although Eugenie’s features simple round (brilliant cut) diamonds giving a less severe and more rounded shape overall. Sarah’s ring was also a ruby, whereas her daughter’s is a sapphire.

The two images were taken in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace, the release said. Receptions often take place in this room, showcasing numerous pieces from the Royal Collection, including Canaletto and van Dyck’s work.
The second photo shows the couple looking into one another’s eyes, smiling.
Mr Brooksbank is a manager at Mayfair bar Mahiki, while the Princess has a full-time position at auction house Hauser & Wirth. They have been dating for approximately seven years, with the announcement of their engagement coming earlier this morning.

The Duke of York said earlier on behalf of himself and Sarah, Duchess of York: “We are overjoyed at the news today that Eugenie and Jack have got engaged. Jack is an absolutely outstanding young man and Eugenie and he have got to know each other over a number of years, and I’m really thrilled for them.”

Such a beautiful engagement ring. The padparadscha sapphire and diamond combination certainly is a wonderful choice, and so nice to see some great photography of the couple and the engagement ring.
