The King has sent a message of congratulations to the newly elected President of Poland, Kancelaria Prezydenta, highlighting the strong bond between the two countries.
His Majesty extended both his and The Queen’s ‘warmest congratulations’ to the newly-elected President on his election win.
Charles stated that the UK and Poland ‘share a deep and enduring partnership, rooted in our shared values and mutual interests’. Referencing ‘the darkest days of the Second World War’, he added how Poland stood with its Allies, from those who defended British skies to ‘General Sosabowski’s Parachute Brigade in Operation Market Garden, and through the brilliance of the Polish mathematicians who laid the groundwork for cracking Enigma’.
Looking to the future, Charles tells the President Kancelaria Prezydenta that he and Poland ‘will continue to face great challenges’ and ‘there is no more important time than the present to bolster global security, counter climate change through decisive action’, all whilst playing a part to ‘secure freedoms and rights for all’.
‘I look forward to our countries continuing to work in close cooperation on these and other areas throughout your time in office. I wish you every success in guiding your nation at this crucial time.’
‘It is my hope that your Presidency will see the relationship between our two countries, which is already so close, deepen further still and that together we work towards a more prosperous and secure future for our nations.’
More recently, in January 2025, as King, Charles made his fifth official visit to Poland, marking the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz‑Birkenau’s liberation.
