The Queen has cancelled virtual engagements scheduled for today, following from the announcement of her COVID-19 status.
Buckingham Palace has said the Monarch continues to suffer mild symptoms: “As Her Majesty is still experiencing mild cold like symptoms she has decided not to undertake her planned virtual engagements today, but will continue with light duties.”
The news of the illness was broken on Sunday, with the Palace explaining The Queen was planning to continue carrying out ‘light duties’ at Windsor Castle this week. That schedule includes a telephone audience with Prime Minister Boris Johnson tomorrow night, and her daily government red boxes.
Recently, Her Majesty’s diary has seen virtual audiences on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and occasionally Thursday.
