As a dog owner herself, we have long known Camilla is a fan of her furry and four-legged friends. But Clarence House gave us some insight into this with a new photo of the Duchess walking one of her Jack Russells, and commenting on the joy dogs bring.
Camilla can be seen walking with Beth, one of her dogs rescued from Battersea, the lead strapped to her belt.
The Duchess of Cornwall is dressed down, in long socks and hiking boots, with a fur trim hat, a crook and a scarf.
The landscape of heather and hills tells us it is the rugged Scottish landscape of Birkhall, which is where The Prince of Wales and Camilla spent lockdown until a few weeks ago.
A short comment accompanied the photo: “The nice thing about dogs is you can sit them down, you could have a nice long conversation, you could be cross, you could be sad and they just sit looking at you wagging their tail!”
Camilla adopted Beth and Bluebell in 2010 and 2011 respectively, and is known for her love of the outdoors, including horse riding.
