Today’s Easter Sunday service at Windsor was attended by The Queen and various members of her extended family, including The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and The Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Her Majesty wore cerise pink for the occasion; she attended the traditional Royal Maundy here on Thursday too. She was without Prince Philip then, who also missed today’s Mattins, apparently with a hip complaint.
The Royals walk down from the private apartments in the Upper Ward of Windsor Castle, ahead of The Queen. Princess Anne – wearing teal – and Sir Tim Lawrence lead the pack today, followed by Princess Eugenie, in a black ensemble, who was joined by fiancee, Jack Brooksbank; the couple will marry at St George’s Chapel in October.

Then came Peter Phillips – sporting something of a beard – and his wife Autumn, who wore a dove grey.
Princess Beatrice followed behind her aunt and cousin, Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, and Lady Louise Windsor. These ladies wore white, navy and burgundy respectively.

The Earl of Wessex was a bit speedier on the walk down with his son, James, Viscount Severn; the 10-year-old looked a little uncomfortable, perhaps a shyness of the cameras?
A heavily pregnant Zara Tindall was not with her husband Mike, but joined her uncle The Duke of York for the walk down. It was Prince Andrew who accompanied his mother, The Queen, into the church.

The family gathered at the doors of the chapel to welcome The Queen; all those who hadn’t already seen her this morning curtsied and bowed.
Prior to her arrival, the group appeared in good spirits, sharing a joke that saw everyone laughing.

Unusually, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came late to the proceedings, arriving after The Queen. They were driven to the service, supposedly from the Duchess’ parents’ house in Berkshire and traffic held them up; Catherine was in brown.
Prince Harry and Meghan were absent from the service, spending the weekend ‘privately’, the Palace said. Prince Charles and Camilla also usually head to Birkhall for Easter.
Locals from Windsor are also allowed to the service, and following it, a number of the royal party had a drink with the Dean, as is tradition.
Her Majesty left first, followed by the Cambridges.
