Camilla’s jewellery: Three leaf Shamrock Brooch

A piece from Elizabeth II's collection

Female members of the Royal Family are known for having a shamrock brooch in their jewellery collection and Queen Camilla is no different.

Queen Camilla has been an avid wearer of her three leaf shamrock brooch for a number of years. But what’s the composition of the brooch?

The brooch features three Persian turquoise stones, each set at the centre of a shamrock leaf. These leaves converge at a larger diamond, which acts as the centrepiece of the design.

Additionally, a delicate cluster of smaller diamonds emerges from the stem, enhancing its elegance.

The brooch originates from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection, though its precise history remains unclear. It is speculated to be the diamond and turquoise brooch listed among the gifts received by the then-Princess Elizabeth upon her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947. This particular brooch was a gift from the Dowager Duchess of Portland.

It remains uncertain whether Elizabeth II formally passed the brooch on to Camilla or if it was loaned to her for significant occasions during the late Queen’s lifetime.
