This intricate 18-carat gold filigree brooch is one of the less traditional styles The Queen has in her collection.
The palace called it the Singapore Shield Brooch, and is a type of Peranakan or ‘Straits Chinese’ style jewellery, but given its design we think the Singapore filigree brooch is a more approriate name.
It is studded with 61 diamonds amongst the leaves – and – of course – comes from Singapore. Crafted by Foundation Jewellers, FHMJV tells us that it is the Bird Of Paradise pendant/brooch, priced at c.£5500 ($6800) and was given to The Queen as a gift for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

This is a lovely delicate piece that I would love to see on Her Majesty more often. It is an an easily-accessorised piece that would go with many an outfit.
We did, however, see it at Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015, and we know The Queen wears symbolic or her favourite pieces to big family events.
