Aside from the big royal event this week – yes, it’s finally time for Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding – there are other engagements for the Royal Family in the coming week.
14th May
– The Duchess of Cornwall will attend the NHS Heroes Awards at the London Hilton.
– The Duke of York will host a Pitch@Palace alumni event and panel discussion at Buckingham Palace.
– The Princess Royal will attend a 50th anniversary dinner for her patronage, The Unicorn Preservation Society, HMS Unicorn, at Dundee’s Victoria docks.
– The Duke of Kent, as President of the Royal United Services for Defence and Security Studies, will attend a dinner in Whitehall.
15th May
– The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend a service at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, for the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association, of which Prince Charles is President; will meet association members and their guests at a tea party at St James Palace.
– The Duke of Cambridge will meet with Nick Knowles and the crew of TV programme ‘DIY SOS’ at a site in Ladbroke Grove, which will host a new community centre and boxing club to support those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire; Prince William will join volunteers and meet local residents who were affected by the tragedy.
– The Duke of York, Colonel of The Grenadier Guards, will host a council meeting at Buckingham Palace and will also attend a garden party at the Palace.
– The Earl of Wessex, Patron of the Northern Ballet, will attend a performance of Jane Eyre at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London.
– The Princess Royal will be in Devon to visit the Make Amends Justice Service as Patron of the Restorative Justice Council; will open the Derriford Research Facility at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentristy.
– The Duchess of Gloucester will open Springfield Primary School’s nursery in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex.
– The Duke of Kent, as the organisation’s President, will visit the Royal National Lifeboat Institution All-Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole, Dorset; will visit fume extraction and filtration specialists BOFA International.
– Princess Alexandra will attend a preview of the New Royal Academy of Arts at Burlington Gardens in London in her role as Honorary Patron of The Royal Academy America.
16th May
– The Queen will give a reception for members of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association at Buckingham Palace.
– The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend a reception to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Press Association at Tate Britain; will visit the YouTube Space, London, to learn about Google’s Arts & Culture projects; will tour Yoox Net-a-Porter Group’s new Tech Hub. Prince Charles also has a solo engagement, attending a reception hosted by The British Fashion Council at Soho House.
– The Earl of Wessex will continue The Duke of Edinburgh Award’s Real Tennis Tour 2018 at Petworth House’s Real Tennis Court; will visit Woolmer High School as Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh Award; will attend a dinner at Petworth House.
– The Princess Royal, in her capacity as Grand Master of The Royal Victorian Order, will attend the Annual Evensong and Reception at The Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, London.
– The Duchess of Gloucester will attend a service at Westminster Abbey as Patron of the Arts Society.
17th May
– The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will be at the National Memorial Arboretum to attend the dedication service for the National Memorial for British Victims of Overseas Terrorism; will meet those affected by terrorism overseas.
– The Duke of York will visit Hambro Perks, an investment company, in London; as President of The Royal Aero Club, will attend the Club’s annual awards at the RAF Club.
– The Countess of Wessex will attend a performance by Tre Voci at St Mary’s Church Shaw in Newbury as part of the town’s Spring Festival. Sophie will then be joined by her husband, Prince Edward, at Buckingham Palace to host a reception for young people who have received a Gold Standard Duke of Edinburgh Award.
– The Princess Royal, Patron of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, will launch the College’s ‘Strategic Intentions’ at Fishmonger’s Hall; will hold a Centenary Reception at St James’s Palace for The English-Speaking Union, of which she is President; as Royal Patron of the London Scottish Football Club, Princess Anne will attend their Legends Dinner at The Hurlingham Club.
– The Duke of Kent will visit the Watershed (a multi-arts venue), Colston Hall and The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol.
– Princess Alexandra will pay a visit to bespoke furniture manufacturers I & JL Brown Ltd; will visit St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
18th May
– The Princess Royal will visit the Tank Museum, Dorset, to open its Conservation in Action Project.
19th May
– Prince Harry will marry Ms. Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle; we can expect to see the Royal Family out in force for the wedding.
20th May
– The Earl of Wessex will be in the South of France as part of The Duke of Edinburgh Award’s Real Tennis Tour.
