The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus, the palace has confirmed, after suffering mild symptoms. However, Charles ‘otherwise remains in good health’.
“He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” Clarence House tells us.
Camilla has also been tested and is not suffering with illness.
“In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.” The couple are staying near at Birkhall, near Balmoral.
“It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks,” the statement tells us. Prince Charles is known to have attended an event earlier this month with Prince Albert of Monaco, who also tested positive for the virus.
However, people are known to be able to carry COVID-19 without displaying symptoms themselves.
The Prince, as well as the Duchess, are both part of the high-risk group being 71 and 72 respectively.
