The Queen has shared a private photo of her and her late husband, The Duke of Edinburgh, ahead of his funeral tomorrow.
In a snap taken at the top of the Coyles of Muick, Scotland, Her Majesty smiles at the camera while Prince Philip reclines with a grin.
It was taken by The Countess of Wessex back in 2003, presumably on a summer holiday at Balmoral. The location is a beauty spot near the town of Ballater in Aberdeenshire.
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were married for 73 years. She made her husband a Prince of the Realm in 1957.
At her Golden Jubilee in 2002, she referred to her husband as her ‘strength and stay’.
The 30 confirmed guests at the royal farewell include all Philip’s children and grandchildren, plus their spouses (save The Duchess of Sussex), Princess Margaret’s children, and three of the Duke’s German relatives, plus Countess Mountbatten of Burma – a close friend of Philip’s.
