Buckingham Palace have announced Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting their second child this summer.
The Palace has said ‘the family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother’.
Eugenie gave birth to son, August, in February 2021 at the Portland Hospital in central London, with the baby weighing 8lbs 1oz.
His full name is August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, and he was the late Queen’s ninth great-grandchild. The name paid tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021.
The Princess also explained on her Instagram that her son is named after his great-great-great-great-great grandfathers.
Eugenie and Jack married in 2018 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. Eugenie wore a dress by Peter Pilotto, featuring a portrait collar, v-shaped back and long sleeves. The bride specifically requested a low back in order to show off her scars from operations as a child to correct her scoliosis.
The tiara was on loan from her grandmother, the Queen. It was a 1919 emerald kokoshnik bandeau style piece, that was owned by the Grevilles and passed to the Queen Mother. Her earrings were a wedding gift from Jack.
The arrival will be the first royal baby of Charles III’s reign.
