In the third royal wedding in just under a year at St George’s Chapel, Lady Gabriella Windsor married Tom Kingston in a ceremony attended by royals, the Middleton clan and the couple’s friends.
They went on to celebrate their happy day at Frogmore House in the grounds that form part of the Windsor Castle estate.
Lady Gabriella Windsor is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Her father is The Queen’s first cousin as they are both grandchildren of George V. Read more about Gabriella’s background, and that of her now-husband here.
Ella, as she is known to her friends and family, wore a bespoke gown by Luisa Beccaria. The dress was made of lace and embroidered with embellishments and flowers. Her veil was made from layers of white tulle.
She wore the family Russian Fringe tiara first seen on her grandmother HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent.
Lady Gabriella’s bouquet featured a creamy ivory “Ella” rose by David Austin named for her and myrtle narking a tradition started by Queen Victoria. Other flowers featured included Juliet roses, lily of the valley and white and apricot sweet peas.
The bridal party included her nieces Maud and Isabella Windsor, daughters of her brother Lord Frederick Windsor and his actress wife Sophie Winkelman, now Lady Frederick Windsor.
She had six bridesmaids in total, three pageboys and three older special attendants.
Tom’s best men included Mr Benjamin Crow, Mr Daniel Crow and Mr Jamie Campbell.
Headed by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, the royal family were also out in force today for the couple’s happy day, including the extended Kent and Gloucester cousins.
The only senior members absent were Prince, Charles, Camilla, Kate and William. The latter is at the FA Cup final, having missed the event last year as he was at his brother’s wedding.
It was the first time for Princess Beatrice’s boyfriend, Edoardo Marpelli Mozzi to join her officially, attending as a couple amongst the extended Royal Family.
King Constantine of Greece was also at the wedding, as he is Ella’s godfather.
All the Middletons were at the wedding, as Pippa is a good friend of Tom’s.
Flowers inside the chapel included coral sunset peonies, coral and white roses, white hydrangea, white delphiniums, apricot stocks and seasonal flowers as well as “Ella” roses.
The happy couple will cut a wedding cake made by Fiona Cairns, who also made the wedding cake for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The cake is comprised of three layers including fruit cake, Victoria sponge and Limoncello sponge.
Earlier, guests tucked into smoked Scottish salmon and asparagus risotto and canapes, as well as Caragh chocolates from the Isle of Sark where the couple became engaged.
It is not yet known where the couple will honeymoon. It could well be that South America is their chosen destination. Ella is a fluent Spanish speaker working as a Director for the Branding Latin America Group in London.
