Kensington Palace have announced The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be sending their children to a school near Windsor, seeming to confirm the family are moving out of central London.
The royal children set to all attend the same education facility – Lambrook School. The school is near Ascot and close to Windsor Castle, describing itself as an ‘independent preparatory school for 615 boys and girls, aged 3-13, set in 52 acres of Berkshire countryside’.
Alumni include two of Queen Victoria’s grandsons, Prince Christian Victor and Prince Albert of Schleswig-Holstein.

Jonathan Perry, headmaster at Lambrook, said: “We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community.”
For the last few years Prince George and Princess Charlotte have attended Thomas’s School in Battersea, south London.
Kensington Palace have said: “Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas’s Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education and are pleased to have found a school for all three children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s.”

The family are expected to live at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate, which will be closer to The Queen in her twilight years. Windsor Castle has become her main residence since isolating during the pandemic.
The modest four-bedroomed cottage was once lived in by Peter Townsend, Princess Margaret’s former fiance, from 1944-1952. It was built in 1831 as a home for the wife of William IV, Queen Adelaide, from where its name is derived.
Moving to Windsor will also mean the Cambridges are closer to Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, who live in Bucklebury, Berkshire.
It is thought William and Catherine have decided to move to Windsor to prioritise the wellbeing of their family, as they continue to find a balance of privacy and freedom, whilst still acting as senior working Royals. Kensington Palace will remain their official residence and their offices will still work out of London. The family will also still use their Norfolk residence on the Sandringham estate, Anmer Hall, as a weekend/holiday retreat.
