The Queen’s Jewellery: Singapore filigree brooch

This intricate 18-carat gold filigree brooch is studded with 61 diamonds, and comes from Singapore. The palace called it the Singapore Shield Brooch, and is a type of Peranakan or ‘Straits Chinese’ style jewellery.

Crafted by Foundation Jewellers, FHMJV tells us that it is the Bird Of Paradise pendant/brooch, priced at c.£5500 ($6800) and was give to The Queen as a gift for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

This is a lovely delicate piece that I would love to see on Her Majesty more often. Its neutral tones makes it an easily-accessorised piece.

We did, however, see it at Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015, and we know The Queen wears symbolic or her favourite pieces to big family events.
