On Tuesday, Prince Philip gave singer Kylie Minogue the Britain-Australia Society Award for her contribution to Anglo-Australian relations.
As patron of the Britain-Australia Society, it is The Duke of Edinburgh’s prerogative to hand out the award. In 2016 it was decided that Kylie would be the recipient.

The pair were photographed chatting at Windsor Castle – as The Queen gives Easter Court there – about how much effort goes into making a record. There seemed to be a lot of laughing and smiling between them both.
The Australian High Commissioner to the UK, Alexander Downer, and the Chairman of the Britain-Australia Society, Peter Benson, were also present at the private audience at Windsor Castle.
Kylie described Philip as “charm personified” and said they had a “good old chat” after the event: “I was just presented with the Britain-Australia Award by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, which was absolutely lovely. We had a good old chat. He was charm personified.”

The Duke of Edinburgh has met Kylie previously, when she performed at The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations last May, so it was something of a reunion for the two.
Kylie said about the Britain-Australia Society, “The Society does a wonderful job to promote the rich cultural ties between the two countries and I am honoured to be recognised by them in this way.”
Prince Philip scaled back his duties in recent years, as has Her Majesty this year, due to advancing age, and this was one of his more public engagements in recent weeks.
