The Royal Family release their Christmas cards

The King and Queen and the Waleses have shared the photos on their cards

It’s that time of year where the members of the Royal Family will be issuing their Christmas cards, which will be sent to many across the country.

We’ve taken a look at the photographs used for this year’s Christmas cards

The King and Queen

This year, Their Majesties have opted for a more informal photograph for their Christmas card. The image was captured by photographer Millie Pilkington in April 2024 and shows Charles and Camilla smiling standing side by side in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Queen Camilla is seen to be wearing a blue wool crepe dress by Fiona Clare, while King Charles is wearing a grey suit and blue tie.

It is likely that the image was taken at the same time as the one used to announce that The King was returning to public-facing duties ‘after a period of treatment and recuperation’ following his cancer diagnosis.

This year’s image is a complete contrast from last year’s choice, which was an an official Coronation photograph taken by Hugo Burnand in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace.
