Mounted in 18-carat white gold, the brooch features a diamond-encrusted depiction of Britannia – the personified national symbol of Britain whose roots stretch back to Roman times.

The female warrior-goddess is presented in a reclining pose, adorned with a classical Corinthian helmet. In one hand she holds a trident, symbolising naval strength; in the other, an olive branch – an enduring symbol of peace. Beside her rests a Union Jack shield featuring rubies and sapphires.

The design of the brooch mirrors the cap badge of the Royal Norfolk Regiment, of which Camilla holds the title of Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment’s successor unit.

Beyond its historical and symbolic layers, the Britannia brooch carries personal meaning as it was previously worn by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Queen Camilla has worn the brooch during a number of engagements including the VE Day 80th anniversary concert at Horse Guards Parade in May 2025.
