The Swedish Court has released a statement, after Queen Silvia of Sweden spent her birthday in hospital.
The Queen, who turned 73 yesterday, was hospitalised late on Friday night and taken to the Karolinska Institute hospital in Stockholm.
Consort to Carl XVI Gustaf, Silvia was treated ‘after feeling dizzy’, the statement said. It added that The Queen had been struggling with a cold ‘for some time’.
She was kept overnight for observation by doctors.
Silvia is said to be doing well, and that Princess Madeleine, her youngest child, spent the night at the hospital.
The Queen is not thought to be suffering from any health conditions. Updates as we get them.
