The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have just left the Lindo Wing with their newborn son, on the same day the royal baby was born.
Appearing together on the steps of the hospital unit, Prince William looked proud of his wife, Kate, who held the young prince; the baby was born at 11.01 am and weighed 8lb 7oz, the heaviest of the couple’s children.
The couple posed for photos and waved to the photographers and well-wishers waiting for them, but didn’t speak to press.
We got a brief glimpse of the baby in his car seat as the family got into the car to leave. As William got into the driver’s seat, he was asked how the family was doing and how he felt. He joked: “Three times the trouble,” now they have a third child.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte visited their brother earlier this afternoon, about which the Duke said the children were ‘very happy’.
