During their photocall at Windsor Castle today, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their son to the world, with Meghan saying that Archie already had ‘the sweetest temperament’.
Meghan gave birth to her first child on Monday morning. The couple revealed earlier this afternoon they have named him Archie Harrison, and he will be known as Archie Mountbatten Windsor, not taking his courtesy title of The Earl of Dumbarton.
The Duchess commented the baby was ‘really calm’ and called the experience of being a mother ‘magic’. “It’s pretty amazing,” she said. “I have the two best guys in the world so I am really happy.”
Indeed, the baby didn’t make a peep throughout the event, sleeping peacefully.
Prince Harry was holding baby Archie throughout the appearance, beaming. He spoke to the press on Monday afternoon, saying he was ‘over the moon’ with the 7lb 3oz bundle.
The Duke of Sussex joked that his son has ‘already got a little bit of facial hair’, to which his wife giggled.

The Queen and Prince Philip met the newborn this afternoon, too, in a special photo released to the couple’s instagram page.
