Zara Tindall, The Queen’s granddaughter, has given birth to a baby girl.
The baby was born yesterday (Monday 18th June) at Gloucestershire’s Stroud Maternity Unit. The new baby, whose name is yet to be announced, is 19th in the line of succession. According to the official announcement, the baby’s name will be announced ‘in due course’
The baby is Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall’s, second child; she is the Queen’s 7th great-grandchild and Princess Anne’s 4th grandchild. The Tindalls’ daughter was also quite large, weighing in at 9lb and 3 oz.
According to the royal statement, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips (Zara’s parents) and Mike’s parents, Phillip and Linda Tindall, have all been informed and are “delighted” with the happy news.
Zara and Mike are also parents to Mia Tindall, aged 4. Mia was born on 17th January 2014 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, weighing 7lb 12oz Since the birth of her cousin, Prince Louis of Cambridge, Mia is 18th in line of succession.
Mia was christened on 20th November 2014 at St Nicholas Church in Cherington, Warwickshire, in the presence of her great-grandparents, Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The Duke of Cambridge also attended the christening.
Mia famously stole the show when she picked up The Queen’s handbag and posed with it during a photoshoot to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
The birth of a new daughter is a particularly joyous occasion for the family; in December 2016, it was announced that Zara had suffered a miscarriage.
Everyone at The Crown Chronicles would like to congratulate Zara and Mike on the birth of their daughter!
