Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden have today announced that they are expecting another child.

It will be a brother or sister for Prince Alexander, who turns one in April, and a sixth grandchild for King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
The couple’s second baby is due in September, so Sofia is thought to be at the end of her first trimester.
“We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family,” a statement from Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia read.
Much like Alexander’s birth, we expect Carl Philip to be present and for it to take place at the same hospital.
No changes are going to be made to the couple’s engagement schedule.
