Charles, 72, and Camilla, 73, are in the fourth priority group for the rollout of the vaccinations. The couple, who have supported the NHS throughout the pandemic, are among 12.6 million people in the UK to have received a least one dose of a vaccine so far.

It is highly likely, although not confirmed, that Prince Charles and Camilla would have received the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as this requires two doses. It is not known whether they were vaccinated together or separately.

During a visit to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to meet frontline health workers, Charles declared his intention to get vaccinated. He confirmed that he nor Camilla were expecting preferential treatment and admitted he was ‘way down the list’ to receive it, having contracted the virus last year.

The news comes weeks after The Queen and Prince Philip were given their first vaccinations. It was confirmed their vaccinations were administered by a household doctor at Windsor Castle, where they have been staying since lockdown began.

Last March Prince Charles contracted the virus, with mild symptoms. The Duchess of Cornwall was also tested and produced a negative result. It is also understood The Duke of Cambridge tested positive for Coronavirus shortly after his father.
