The ties between the Royal Families of the UK and Jordan are both longstanding and personal. Queen Rania of Jordan serves as a council member for Prince William’s Earthshot Prize, highlighting the shared commitment of both families to addressing global environmental challenges. In 2023, The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein to Rajwa Khalid Al-Saif, representing the United Kingdom at the grand occasion in Amman.
Their personal connection dates back further, to 2018, when the then-Duke of Cambridge visited Jordan on a solo trip. During this visit, he recreated a childhood family photo of Catherine, taken with her father and sister at the ancient site of Jerash, showcasing a personal and historical link between the families. The visit also marked the beginning of William’s close friendship with the Crown Prince, with memorable images released of the two watching a World Cup match together during the trip.
This latest meeting at Windsor Castle serves as another milestone in the evolving relationship between the two heirs. Both are poised to lead their respective monarchies into the future, and their shared values, strong personal rapport, and mutual respect continue to strengthen the historic ties between the United Kingdom and Jordan.
