If you want to be part of The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations this year, look no further to secure yourself a ticket on the Long Walk at Windsor Castle for the final spectacular night of celebrations in May.
A free ballot has now opened to get your hands on one of 5,000 tickets for the final night of Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday Party, after the Royal Windsor Horse Show, on 15th May.
The weekend of events, the culmination of which will be broadcast live by Ant & Dec, is to be a celebration of The Queen’s life, her love of horses, her dedication to the Commonwealth and international affairs and her deep involvement with the Navy, Army and Air Force.
Half of the draw will be limited to local Windsor residents, and the remainder of tickets will be open to all. Those lucky enough to get a ticket will sit on the 4.2km Long Walk and watch celebrities arriving on the red carpet, and see the other events on large screens.
25,000 seated tickets to watch the four-night theatrical spectacular sold out within hours in November.
The show, which runs over four nights, will feature 1,500 performers including musicians, dancers and choirs and 900 horses. It will tell the story of the life of the Queen, who turns 90 on 21 April.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “The Long Walk evening is expected to have a great party atmosphere for the 5,000 ticket holders with food stands, picnicking opportunities and entertainment to enjoy against the stunning backdrop of Windsor Castle.”
The Queen will attend the final night – Sunday – and other Royals will be attending throughout the weekend.
