Cambridges take George and Charlotte to Easter Sunday service

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge led the way for Royals to attend the Easter Sunday service at Windsor today, bringing Prince George and Princess Charlotte with them.

The Queen missed today’s service, one of the most important in the Christian calendar. She was thought to be in her apartment in the Upper Ward of Windsor Castle, so it is expected she saw her family members.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex were also in attendance with their children, Lady Louise and James, along with Zara and Mike Tindall, and their eldest daughter, Mia.

Lady Sarah Chatto, The Queen’s niece, brought her family for the Mattins, and Princess Eugenie joined cousin, Peter Phillips, with his daughters Isla and Savannah for the walk to St George’s Chapel.

Earlier in the week, Prince Charles took the Monarch’s place at the Maundy Thursday service, also at St George’s Chapel, where he handed out Maundy money to parishioners who had made positive contributions to their communities.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall usually spend Easter at Birkhall, near to Balmoral.
